Here's a truth most painters won't tell you: the paint itself accounts for maybe 20% of how your paint job looks and lasts. The other 80% is prep. And prep is time-consuming, tedious, and invisible once the paint goes on. Which is exactly why so many painters skip it.

You've seen the results of skipped prep: exterior paint peeling after one Colorado winter. Interior walls where patches show through. Trim paint that chips off because nobody sanded or primed. Caulk lines that are bumpy because nobody took the time to tool them smooth.

At Trustie Services, prep is non-negotiable. Exterior projects start with power washing, scraping every loose flake, sanding rough areas, filling gaps and cracks, caulking every seam, and priming bare surfaces. Interior projects include filling nail holes, sanding imperfections, taping crisp lines, and applying primer that matches the topcoat.

Then — and only then — does premium paint go on. Sherwin-Williams Duration, SuperPaint, or Emerald. Benjamin Moore Regal or Aura. These paints cost more for a reason: superior coverage, color accuracy, durability, and washability. We don't use contractor-grade paint because our clients deserve better.

New cabinets are expensive. Like, really expensive. For most kitchens, cabinet replacement runs into the tens of thousands and takes weeks. Cabinet refinishing delivers a dramatic transformation at a fraction of the cost and time.

But cabinet painting is NOT like wall painting. Cabinets are handled, bumped, opened, and closed thousands of times a year. They're exposed to cooking grease, moisture, and temperature changes. Regular wall paint on cabinets will chip, peel, and look terrible within months.

Our cabinet refinishing process starts with thorough cleaning and degreasing. Then we sand every surface for adhesion. Then primer — bonding primer specifically formulated for slick surfaces. Then two to three coats of cabinet-grade paint (Benjamin Moore Advance or Sherwin-Williams ProClassic), with light sanding between coats.

The result is a factory-smooth finish that's durable enough for daily kitchen use. We also paint or replace hardware, touch up the interior of cabinets if desired, and ensure every door and drawer operates smoothly after reinstallation.
